21-hydroxylase is the main immunogenic of anti adrenal glands antibodies.
The assay for anti-21-hydroxylase antibodies is more sensitive and more specific than screening for adrenal glands antibodies to confirm the cause of an autoimmune adrenal deficiency.
Results should always be interpreted in light of the therapeutic and clinical context as well as adrenal gland biological profile.
